A Moment with the SAG Awards Committee

It's been a while since our last post - sorry! We're here wrapping up post show. I hope you enjoyed the show and we've put out some videos for you and working on a few more for those of you who may have missed the show - or just want to see it again! Check out our Facebook page for photos leading up to the show and behind the scenes on Show Day. It was a lot of fun. Crazy busy, but definitely fun.

On one of the days I was able to sit down with the whole committee and ask them a few of the questions that were submitted on the blog. Sorry I couldn't get to all the questions! I think it's cute how they interact together and how well they all get along. They have also had so many different experiences, and it's fascinating to hear a tidbit of their stories. I hope that this video makes you kind of feel like you are there with me, because if I could bring you all along, I would.

Get to know the committee in the video below. Please excuse the loud banging noises in the background - We taped this on the show room floor, and stage set up was going on directly to my right, their left. Also there's a promo for the watching the show. We taped this before the show, but it was so busy, that the video wasn't ready until now.

Also, here is the portion of the TNT/TBS pre-show webcast that shows Scott & JoBeth announcing the Stunt Honors recipients for film and TV this year. It's entertaining, even though Scott didn't wear his dress. And if you didn't already know: find out who was nominated and who who was honored for Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in film and television.

The SAG Awards Ceremony Auction - Ends Friday!

The SAG Foundation was started in 1985 with the mission to assist, educate, and inspire actors. They contribute to such causes as BooksPAL, a volunteer program in which actors read aloud to elementary school children, Storyline Online to increase literacy and excitement about books via the Internet, and We The Children, a foundation that teaches children self-confidence through literacy by giving them the opportunity to write and illustrate their family story.

Currently, with the help of Clothes Off Our Back and lots of generous SAG contributors, we are running some fabulous auctions to benefit the SAG Foundation. For example, our sweet Lifetime Achievement Honoree, Betty White, signed and donated some personal memoribilia, including her book, Here We Go Again. Some of my favorite auctions are this special edition Crazy Heart photobook - signed by Bad Blake himself, Jeff Bridges, a visit to the set of E! News, dinner for four at Suzanne Goin's revered restaurant Lucques, and this huge bottle of the special Screen Actor's Guild Awards Cuvee by Dry Creek Vineyards.

Check out all our auctions and start bidding! Remember, auctions close on January 29, 2010 (staggered endings starting at 5pm PST). Good luck!

Lauren Velez of Dexter signs her bobblehead for auction. You can get this fantastic Dexter gift pack including bobbleheads, Seasons 1-3 DVD's and "blood" spattered coasters here.

Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne of Lucques and Tavern - Caterers of the SAG Awards with committee members Shelley Fabares, Scott Bakula, and Chair JoBeth Williams. You can win an awesome dinner for 4 at Lucques and an Autographed copy of Suzanne's James Beard Foundation award winning cookbook here.

There are scripts from some of your favorite shows autographed by the cast members. How about a the script of the Pilot episode of 30 Rock signed by Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin and Tracy Morgan. Or sheet music or lyric sheets signed by the GLEE cast. Or the Pilot Episode of Modern Family script that is covered in autographs by the show's stars.

Anna Kendrick and George Clooney signed this luggage which is the same model that Anna's character used in Up in the Air. On top of being a fantastic piece of luggage, you get photo of Anna from the film signed by her. Plus George Clooney winked at me when he signed the luggage and that moment is captured in his signature on the suitcase. That's priceless. Get it here now.

Some more fun TV items. A swag package from Curb Your Enthusiasm including seasons 1-6 DVDs, a Curb tshirt, hat & sweatshirt. Do you total Trubie? Want to be bitten by Bill Compton? How To Throw Your Own SAG Awards Party

Step 1. Watch this clip from the KTLA morning show with SAG Event Supervisor Andrea Wyn Schall, Los Angeles Chef and Restauranteur Suzanne Goin, and KTLA's Allie MacKay for insider tips and tricks on mimicking the gorgeous table settings that we will have at Saturday's awards.

Suzanne Goin, Andrea Wyn Schall, and Allie MacKay at Suzanne's Lucques

Step 2.
Stop by Suzanne Goin's Brentwood restaurant, Tavern, and pick up a SAG Awards Picnic box, which features dishes like roasted winter vegetables and grilled Colorado lamb tenderloin. That way you won't have to peel a huge mound of carrots by yourself.

Man, that's a lot of carrots!

Step 3. While you're out, pick up a bottle or two of Taittinger champagne - we're celebrating tonight!

Step 4. Print out nominations sheets and have your guests guess the winners.

Step 5. Tune in to The People Magazine and TNT Live Red Carpet Show at 3:15pm PST this Saturday on TNT/TBS, to be followed by our live show!

Step 6. (Most importantly) have fun!

Betty White Answers Your Questions!

It's Show Week! It's a busy week coming up and the days are never going to seem long enough. As it is, I can't believe it's afternoon already. But I can't complain because it's going to be a lot of fun seeing all the finishing touches come together. This week we have the Statue Pouring where our Actor Statuettes are cast in solid bronze, and then behind the scenes events where we'll show off the food and decor, highlight items we have for the Ceremony Auction (there's some really good stuff!), give you an inside look to the seating for the show and our Red Carpet roll out! Get excited.

Last week we spent a little bit of time with Betty White. She participated in SAG Foundation's Storyline Online, and then she sat down, made her first video blog, and answered some of the questions that you all submitted. She has really great stories, and she's done so much that it's always a good time to chat with her. Every time I'm with her, people around us are always excited to tell her how much they love her, and Betty's such a doll and has a great sense of humor. I hope that when I'm 88 years old, that I am that awesome.

We're still taking questions for the committee, for what is probably their first vlog as well, so submit them here. They're anxiously waiting to answer your questions!
